For the premiere of Tyler Perry’s Divorce in the Black, Taylor Polidore Williams was stepping onto the red carpet during an exciting new chapter in both her career and personal life. As her visibility in film and television continued to grow, the moment called for a look that felt elevated enough for a major premiere while still telling something personal about the woman wearing it.

THE STORY

Rather than interpreting the film’s darker themes literally, we challenged the narrative with an all-white Maticevski look, a deliberate nod to Taylor’s own life as a newlywed and new wife. The sculptural silhouette gave us the drama needed for the carpet, while Christian Louboutin shoes and Swarovski and Cachet jewelry completed the look. The result felt sophisticated, feminine, and celebratory, allowing her personal story to exist alongside the story she was there to promote.

CREATIVE APPROACH

The final look created a memorable red-carpet moment rooted in intention. More importantly, it continued the visual story we had been building for Taylor as she entered a larger stage in her career: polished, confident, and fiercely feminine.
