Created during the height of the pandemic, Wear Your Mask was an original Couture Moments editorial inspired by a phrase that had suddenly become part of everyday life. Hearing “wear your mask” repeatedly sparked the idea to capture this unprecedented moment through fashion, transforming something associated with protection, uncertainty, and a changing world into a visual story.

THE STORY

I reimagining the mask as the focal point of each image. I created the masks by hand, cast the talent, developed and styled each look, photographed the series and completed the final edits. The goal was to use fashion and portraiture to document a time in modern history.

CREATIVE APPROACH

The finished series turned one of the most recognizable symbols of the pandemic into original fashion imagery and became another example of how I use independent projects to continually develop my creative voice. More than creating beautiful photographs, Wear Your Mask allowed me to take an idea sparked by the world around me and lead it through every stage, from concept to final image.
